We like to think that caring for your pets means more than simply bringing them in when they are poorly. We’re great believers in maintaining good health through preventative intervention.
Nurse-led pet care
The veterinary nurses who run our clinics work alongside our vets to ensure the well-being of all our patients. These clinics include a range of vital checks, all delivered in a gentle but educational environment with like-minded pet owners.
Options at our Alexander Street clinic include:
- Weight Management Clinic: It is increasingly recognised that keeping your pets a healthy weight throughout their life will reduce the risk of many diseases. We can help you identify underweight and overweight pets before their weight becomes a problem and put up a plan with diet and lifestyle changes to help your pet get back to a healthy weight.
- Dental Clinic: Our dental clinics nip problems in the bud by identifying issues and solutions that reduce the need for a vet to get involved.
- Senior Pet Checks: Our senior pet clinics look for problems associated with older pets, like arthritis and liver complaints, and help catch them early – which can mean a longer happier life for your pet.
- Behaviour Clinic: Our nursing team can provide some practical advice. More complex cases may require a full, in-depth assessment with a specialist referral.
- New Puppy Advice: If you’re just starting out with a new puppy, trust in our veterinary nurses to advise you on toilet training, behaviour, nutrition, socialisation and more.
Baywater’s Registered Veterinary Nurses can also take care of a range of minor procedures – please enquire with our reception team about:
- Anal glands expression
- Post-surgeries checks
- Nail clipping
- Administration of meds/flea/tick worming as directed by the vet
- Suture removal and more.
